Secunderabad, 20 August 2017: Delhi Public School (DPS) Secunderabad, celebrated the ‘Nrityanjali- 2017’ dance festival with great zeal and fervour. In an event organised at the school campus, participants from ten schools of DPS Society showcased their performances vying with each other for the coveted trophy.
Delhi Public School Society initiated an Inter DPS Zone 7 Dance festival Nrityanjali-2017 to make the students experience this rich cultural legacy of this land of the hypnotic mystique! DPS, Secunderabad hosted the event on a magnificent scale. The Principal, DPS- Secunderabad, Ms. Shailaja Gopinath addressed the distinguished gathering in an impressive rhetoric. The Chief Guest who graced the occasion was Sri Kalakrishna-Andhra Natyam exponent. The participant teams were, DPS Bangalore (North), DPS Bangalore South, DPS Hyderabad, DPS Mangalore, DPS Miyapur, DPS Nacharam, DPS Secunderabad, DPS Uniworld City Chennai, DPS Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and DPS Warangal.
The themes prescribed were in tune with sensitization of the students to the culture of the land-‘Sathyameva Jayathe’-Truth always triumphs and ‘Jagruthi’- An awakening. Each team dealt with the evocative theme in a creative and an innovative way. Grandeur and splendour unveiled before the viewers who went into raptures totally bewitched by the artistic denouement.
The esteemed panel of judges constituted Mr. Raghavraj Bhat, Ms. Vyshnavie Sainath and Ms. Yamini Reddy. The Chief Guest’s words of wisdom reflected his sublime attitude towards dance and he exhorted the students to imbibe the very ethos of Indian dance and to revel in its aesthetics. He congratulated the teams for their wonderful expositions! The event was a resounding success which shall undoubtedly remain etched in the memory of the entire audience and thunderous applause reverberated in the precincts of DPS Secunderabad, celebrating the ethereal spirit of dance and the effort of its unstoppable exponents! It culminated on a congratulatory note!
